Boiled Peanuts


A great southern treat.

Boiled Peanuts

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Raw Peanuts
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 4 Jalapeños Large, sliced with seeds
  • 1/2 cup Kosher Salt
  • 3 tbsp Creole Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 quart Water More or less as needed to cover peanuts
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Cayenne, etc.

Instructions
 

Crock Pot

  • Add peanuts, salt, red pepper to crock pot. Fill with water. Soak 12 hours.
  • Add gartlic and jalapeños, and apple cider vinegar. Cook on low 8-12 hours

Storing

  • Refrigerate for 7 days, or freeze with cooking liquid for 3 months.

Notes

Green peanuts are fresh from the field have not been dried. They will cook much faster.  This recipe is for dried, uncooked peanuts.
