Baked Chicken Breast

Easy, perfect baked chicken.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Chicken breast
  • 1 tbsp butter melted
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Optional Sweet Tea Brine

  • 2 cups sweet tea
  • 1 tbsp salt

Instructions
 

Optional Sweet Tea Brine

  • Mix tea & salt. Marinate chicken in fridge for 2+ hours; longer is better up to 12 hours.
  • Drain & pat dry.

Main

  • Allow chicken to come up to room temperature. 20+ minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 425
  • Brush chicken breast with butter
  • Salt & pepper both sides
  • Insert meat thermometer (set temp alarm to 155 degrees)
  • Remove from oven and rest under loosely tented foil for 10-15 minutes after reaching 155 degrees. The breast will continue to cook and hit 165 for safe eating.

Notes

Use good quality chicken.  If not, tenderize by pounding.
