Baked Chicken Breast
Easy, perfect baked chicken.
Ingredients
- 1 Chicken breast
- 1 tbsp butter melted
- Salt
- Pepper
Optional Sweet Tea Brine
- 2 cups sweet tea
- 1 tbsp salt
Instructions
Optional Sweet Tea Brine
- Mix tea & salt. Marinate chicken in fridge for 2+ hours; longer is better up to 12 hours.
- Drain & pat dry.
Main
- Allow chicken to come up to room temperature. 20+ minutes.
- Preheat oven to 425
- Brush chicken breast with butter
- Salt & pepper both sides
- Insert meat thermometer (set temp alarm to 155 degrees)
- Remove from oven and rest under loosely tented foil for 10-15 minutes after reaching 155 degrees. The breast will continue to cook and hit 165 for safe eating.
Notes
Use good quality chicken. If not, tenderize by pounding.
