Crumble 2-3 links of sausage. Slice remainder into 1-2 inch pieces.
In a very large skillet, over medium-high heat, combine sausage, onion, and garlic. Brown sausage (it need not cook through), then drain in a colander.
Sauce
Combine sausage/onion/garlic with remaining ingredients in a large pot.
Stovetop: Bring to boil, then reduce to low and simmer 1 hour.
Crockpot: Cook on low 4-6 hours.
